Redkite Asset Management System - Inventory Management & Checks
|
The Redkite Asset Management System allows you to undertake inventory checks manually or electronically, using bar-code and RFID readers.
Asset Templates
Customised asset templates underpin electronic inventory checks and are used in conjunction with the Redkite Mobile software to facilitate inventory checks using bar codes or RFID readers. Asset templates can be readily created to show what assets a sub location, for example, a locker or shelf, should contain to ensure that appropriate assets are available in the correct numbers to meet operational needs.
Creating a template is very straightforward and a template can be applied to many similar sub-locations. For example, you many have many vehicles that will be required to carry certain types of assets in given quantities in a similar sub location. Once you create a template for one sub location on a vehicle you can apply the same template to all vehicles. The same is also true of buildings where all offices will be expected to contain similar furnishings and computer equipment.
The asset template not only checks the different types of asset found at a location, it also counts the number giving you an accurate stock check showing, where appropriate, any shortfalls or surpluses.
Using the template, you can check both consumable and non-consumable items.
Inventory checks using the Redkite Mobile software
The Redkite Mobile software is designed to make inventory checking quick easy and accurate and facilitates inventory checks using bar codes or RFID tags or a combination of both.
Working with appropriate readers, the software can be used in even the most extreme environments.
Where RFID tags are used, the Redkite Mobile rapid data capture module batch reads RFID tags ticking off assets as they are ‘found’. A shelf or a locker can effectively be scanned in one sweep.
Whether you use bar codes or RFID or a combination of both, users will be notified when an asset is found ‘out of location’ and appropriate action can be taken to re-locate the asset.
Because an inventory check updates the central register in real time an inventory check can be stopped and restarted without any risk of loss of information or the need to re-read labels or tags.
No upload or download of information is required – all checks and updates are made in real time and no software is installed on a reader.

Trials in Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service and Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service in the United Kingdom, have proven that in just a few seconds the Redkite RFID batch scan function will carry out an RFID inventory check, on a locker full of equipment in a single sweep of the RFID reader. This isn’t just a ‘one-off’. It happens locker after locker and in very short time a complete vehicle will be checked.
