With over 40 years of continuous trading - designing, developing and marketing innovative computer systems for a wide variety of sectors, our products have always been seen as user friendly, reliable and robust.

Redkite Systems provide an integrated suite of software, The Smart Software Suite designed to help businesses manage compliance and maximise business potential through effective staff training, asset management, and incident recording processes amongst many other things.

Wherever our systems are used, our clients use their systems 24 x 7 x 365 and all our customers have benefitted from greater efficiency, improved safety, reduced costs and greater accountability in managing compliance to meet regulatory requirements.

We believe our success is due to the fact that we listen to what our clients want, design our systems to match the language and culture in which they are used, respond promptly and courteously to any queries and resolve any issues quickly. This is reflected in customer satisfaction surveys carried out amongst our hosted customers over numerous years.

Where did we originate?
1982 David Arber Associates - pioneered the development of computer-based learning and computer based therapeutic software marketed via the BBC, Commodore Computers and others for use on their computers in UK schools and other establishments.

In 1986 David Arber was commissioned by the Manpower Services Commission, a UK Government Department at that time, to develop a system to manage competence for the nascent NVQ scheme. Retaining the IP and marketing rights, David Arber went on to supply the system to a number of NVQ Awarding Bodies, notably, the London Chamber of Commerce Examination Board, The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons; other users included the BBC, Channel 4, the Open University, the University of Central England in Birmingham and Scottish Hydro Electric plc amongst others.

In 1989 David Arber set up Performance Monitoring Systems Ltd (PMS Ltd) to provide administration, marketing and support with a focus on developing paperless electronic management systems aimed at improving business performance and safety.

In 1989, following the Clapham Rail Disaster, PMS Ltd supplied British Rail with a national competence management system, in use on a daily basis in all 20 rail operating and all 9 rail infrastructure maintenance companies in the UK.

In 1995, David Arber, a keen bird watcher, formed Redkite Systems Ltd as a non-trading company to become the trading name for David Arber and Performance Monitoring Systems Ltd.

In 1996, Redkite Systems supplied the Fire Service College, Moreton in Marsh, England with the Redkite Competence Management System to manage external assessments for the emergent Fire Service NVQ’s. Our first venture into the fire sector.

In 1998 David Arber met with the UK Civil Aviation Authority to discuss the requirement for an electronic, paperless recording system to manage CAP 699; the Competence Framework for Aerodrome Rescue and Fire Fighting Personnel Employed in UK Aerodromes. In 1999 the Redkite CAP 699 Competence Management System was introduced for trials at 3 UK aerodromes: Coventry Airport, Newcastle International Airport and Norwich International Airport.

In the same year Redkite Systems worked with Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service (WFRS) to develop a Competence Management System and an electronic Equipment Management System designed to support the requirements of Technical Bulletin 1/94. This project was completed in the year 2000 and rolled out within WFRS in 2001 and has since led to their widespread use with local authority Fire and Rescue Services in England and Wales.

In 2017, Redkite Systems worked with London Farnborough Airport to develop an Incident Reporting System for use across the aerodrome. Now known as the Redkite E-Log, the system is now widely used in many airports, NHS Trusts, and other sectors.

In 2019, Redkite Systems secured a contract to supply the UK MOD Fire Service project managed by Capita Government Services with the Redkite Competence Management, Redkite Equipment Management and Redkite E-Log systems which are used on a daily basis at over 45 locations in 4 countries.

Today Redkite Systems Ltd is the leading supplier of competence and equipment management systems to fire and rescue services around the world.
